Thanks to God for this our Chapel

Thanksgiving for Chapel Hymn   (Tune: Regent Square or Cwm Rhondda)

Thanks to God for this, our Chapel,
and its life across the years.
For the many scenes its witnessed,
host to many hopes and fears.
Joy and sadness, joy and sadness,
praise to God for smiles and tears.

Thanks to God for weekly worship,
prayer and reading, hymn and song.
Preachers, and their congregations,
all discerning right from wrong.
Joy and sadness, joy and sadness,
praise God loud, and praise him long.

Thanks to God for all the people
who have worshipped in this place.
Serving, caring, forming family,
helping each to run the race.
Joy and sadness, joy and sadness,
praise God for this time and space.

Thanks to God for all we’ve shared here,
faithful worship, loving care.
Things that we will always treasure,
carry with us, hold in prayer.
Joy and sadness, joy and sadness,
praise the God who’s always there.

Thanks to God we have a future,
under his almighty hand.
Following where his Spirit leads us,
heading for the promised land.
Prayer and praises, prayer and praises,
trusting in what God has planned.
