Three by Three Prayer
These suggestions for nine days of prayer are for use from May 22nd – 30th (the period of ‘Thy Kingdom come’ – the Archbishop of Canterbury’s initiative) possibly at 12 noon, but of course, they can be used at any time.
You may like to light a candle or use another visual focus.
Be quiet and still for a minute or two before you begin.
Pray for the world/country/community using these suggestions
and then say the Lord’s Prayer…
Day 1
PRAY FOR OUR WORLD
- For its struggle with coronavirus
- For all leaders & governments
- For God's kingdom to come...
Day 2
PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY
- For everyone affected by the Covid 19 pandemic
- For our government & PM
- For God’s kingdom to come…
Day 3
PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITY
- For all affected by the lockdown
- For the local council and local charities and volunteers
- For God’s kingdom to come…
Day 4
PRAY FOR OUR WORLD
- For all in need today
- For refugees, victims of natural disasters or war, people who need food or medical care
- For God’s kingdom to come…
Day 5
PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY
- For the poorest in our society
- For the homeless, those below the poverty line, children in need, those suffering domestic abuse or struggling with addiction
- For God’s kingdom to come…
Day 6
PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITY
- For the suffering we do not see
- For those using the foodbanks, for those on the streets
- For God’s kingdom to come…
Day 7
PRAY FOR OUR WORLD
- For the issue of climate change, for peace and justice,
- For the poorest countries and for people who suffer the most
- for God’s kingdom to come…

- for wisdom and compassion from our leaders,
